| Inkscape: A really good vector graphics program. Inkscape is free and it does almost everything that the expensive programs do. (It helps to have a powerful computer to run it.) (Takes some time and patience to learn.) |  |

Gimp: Gimp is an Image Manipulation and Animation Program. You can retouch, resize and otherwise modify digital pictures with it. Again it takes some time to learn, and like Inkscape it's free. |
| Blender: Blender is a 3D image creation and animation program. Also requires some time spent learning it. The interface looks totally foreign, but it's really quite simple when you do some of the tutorials in the help section. |  |

OpenOffice: A free office suite. OpenOffice reads and saves Microsoft Word and Excel files so compatibility is not an issue. |
| NeoOffice: This is just like OpenOffice but specially made for Macs. Doesn't require X11 to run unlike a lot of others. |  |

PSpad: If you want to do simple tasks like swapping pictures and text on your website then this may be suitable. Free and for the Windows operating system only. Does FTP (File Transfer Protocol) also. |
| Coffee Cup free HTML editor: This program allows you to edit your web pages and to do File Transfers (FTP). For Windows operating system only. This is a lite version of their commercial editor. |  |

CyberDuck: This is an FTP application (File Transfer Protocol) for the Mac operating system only. Very simple and useful. It only transfers files it doesn't edit them. You would use it with the Taco editor below. |
